Flinders Principal Stuart Meade said it was an honour for the College to be recognised for its commitment to being a leader in education.

鈥淭he selection of Flinders as an Apple Distinguished School highlights our success as we strive to provide a compelling learning and teaching environment for our students and staff,鈥 Stuart said.

鈥淭echnology plays an important role at Flinders, providing opportunities for rich and varied learning experiences while also developing essential digital literacy skills,鈥 he said.

鈥淥ur College staff team embraces opportunities to be at the forefront of teaching pedagogy, and enjoy using Apple technology in creative and compelling ways.鈥

Miss Laura Bain, Head of Emerging Technologies and Innovation in the Flinders Primary School, said the College鈥檚 aim was to help students become masterful users of technology.

鈥淚n our increasingly digital society, we are mindful that our students need to be equipped with a deep understanding of the role of technology in our world and a strong sense of digital citizenship,鈥 Laura said.

鈥淚n the Flinders Primary we provide opportunities for our students to collaborate in safe online spaces with staff and peers to learn these skills,鈥 she said.

鈥淭he exciting work we do in the classroom with Apple technology helps to make the learning experience at Flinders more personalised, creative and memorable.

鈥淔or example, through our I-care and i-Impact design thinking programs, students from Prep to Year 6 are continuously utilising Apple technology to explore and create projects that are interactive and engaging.鈥

- solve problems, think creatively and learn deeply

Similarly, teachers at Flinders Primary School use Apple technology and other digital resources to:

- utilise the best pedagogical approaches with technology that will enable the best outcomes for teaching and learning

- discover time-efficient workflows

- lead the way in innovative tools and practices with classroom technology
